Rainbow Row

Here’s to the start of another week..I swear it was Friday like 5 minutes ago!! lol Two weeks ago this gorgeous Planet Blue maxi dress came with me on my family trip to Charleston.  I wore it on our first full day there because I knew we would be walking through all the cutest colonial homes and areas, but specifically Rainbow Row.

Rainbow Row is the name for thirteen colorful historic houses that date back to the 1700’s and represent the longest cluster of Georgian row houses in the United States. They say that they originally painted the homes these colors in order for drunk sailors to find their ways back home, but others say that the colors had something to do with the merchants advertising their wares with the assistance of the hues.

Not only was the maxi dress perfect for the hot and humid Charleston weather, but for a fashion blogger, I was able to incorporate my outfit with the beautiful colorful behind me. 🙂  Mind you I didn’t wear these floral mules through our 2-3 mile walk that day (I wore comfortable sandals), but I could not resist adding these beauties to complete my look.  The floral details of the mules matched perfectly with all the beautiful homes of Rainbow Row behind me and pulled my entire outfit together.

You will see more of my Charleston looks the rest of the week, but this one was especially my favorite.

Happy Monday! <3
