NYFW Day 1: Style The Girl

“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future…this is known as Fashion Week.” – Carrie Bradshaw

The first day of NYFW was a whirlwind.  Myself and two of my other blogger babes arrived to NYC at 1030am and rushed to our hotel so we could head to our meetings.  We got super lucky because the hotel that I picked out for us was right in front of the Skylight at Moynihan Station, so there was always photographers, celebrities and bloggers walking by at every given moment.

My first meeting of the day was with Charming Charlie.  I have been an ambassador with them for over a year and loved being able to meet the PR team, see the new product for holiday (BTW I am obsessed) and get to actually see some of my friends that work there.  It was seriously the best!!!

The second meeting with Shoshanna ended up having to be cancelled so I was going to meet the girls at the GiGi Pop Up shop in the Meatpacking District.  Since I was so close to Bryant Park I ended up requesting an uber ,which took so long and got the wrong address, that I ended up walking back to the hotel to get all of us girls checked in.

After freshening up and changing I then walked a few blocks over to meet the rest of the girls at the Now + Zen PR office to select a few items that we could borrow for the next few days, (which I will post about soon), and take home a new pair of super cute navy blue heels.

After leaving and heading to our hotel we were so lucky to catch Amber from the Barefoot Blonde shooting pictures with her husband a block away from our hotel; totally having a fan girl moment.

We then ended up getting ready for our night out and heading to the Lulus Style Studio that was less than a 10 minute walk from our hotel.  When we got there the line was long, and I totally understood why the moment that we walked in.  From hair/makeup/nail stations, to getting to take samples of any makeup we want, a free Nume Wand (which is the only thing that I use for my hair), free clothes and more; it was awesome!!  We spend almost two hours there and got to see and mingle with tons of other bloggers the we followed or follow us.  It was so great to have everyone in one room.

After we left we went back to the hotel, grabbed sneakers and went and got pizza.  During Fashion Week you are so busy its really hard to find time to eat, so $1 pizza on the street and a soda is sometimes the best thing in the entire world.  NY also has some of the best pizza so its a total win.

This For Love and Lemons dress was one of my absolute favorites while in NYC.   This saffron mini dress has gorgeous floral embroidery throughout and long blouse sleeves that made the look not overly sexy since it was a mini.   The front keyhole with lattice trim detailing pulled the look completely together when I paired it with my brand new velvet clutch from Charming Charlie that I got earlier that day.  It was the perfect combination and I felt absolutely beautiful.
