3 Tips To Working Out With Your Child

Now that I have officially been a mom for a year my workout regime is a lot more active since Sofia is officially a toddler.  If you have followed me for a while now, you will know that I absolutely hate the word “work out” and that I absolutely hate the gym. This has always been the case.

In the past, when I have gone to the gym, I honestly just feel like people are staring at me constantly or I end up staring at people. lol  So, obviously I hated it.  Now staying at home, I find more fun and entertaining ways to work out, and that also makes me feel more comfortable, empowered and less like a mouse in a cage.

You all know how much I rave about Fit4Mom, you can see more from this post, but I also wanted to share with you 3 ways I work out with Sofia that is completely free and fun.

1.Go for walks or runs around your neighborhood.  I do this at least 3-4 times a week with Sofia and I  always bring the puppies along.  Not only it is a great way to get your blood pumping, but it is nice to get out of the house, give your baby a new view and perspective and to stretch your legs.  We normally do 3 miles in about an hour and that is perfect.  Charlie does end up getting tired, so we always have to put him on the bottom of the jogger. 😉

2. Utilize your baby as weight.  No matter how big or small your baby or child may be, they are one of the best ways to gain muscle.  When I am doing squats or lunges, I will hold Sofia with both arms in a superman pose or have her sitting around my shoulder, and it works perfectly.

3. If the weather permits, take your baby outside in your backyard on a blanket or towel at one side of the yard.  From there place markers all the way to the other side and use those to do sprints back and forth.  Not only does Sofia just sit and stare, but the dogs get really excited and run with me.

All of these activities I do, I am wearing my new Puma Rebel Swan sneakers.  Not only are they comfortable due to their soft insoles and  are slip-ons, but they are also super funky and cool. I love how mine have that purple hue.

I hope these simple, easy and free tips help, and if any of you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.  Have a great day guys!! <3
