Almost two weeks ago I was lucky enough to head to Jensen Beach, FL to visit the Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa, which is located one hour away from the Palm Beach airport on Florida’s treasure coast. The resort is a brand new hotel which opened barely a year and a half ago in October 2017. AAA Four-Diamond property. The hotel has 178 guest rooms that reflect the beach and nautical theme perfectly. Every detail is meticulously picked out to reflect their location and everything is true to the area; you will not see any Michael’s or Hobby Lobby sea pieces placed in this hotel.
From the moment you walk into the lobby you are greeted with hand made sand designed that say Hutchinson Shores, a amazingly beautiful glass chandelier with sharp nosed sharks and fishes incorporate the deep blues and teals that run though out the entire resort, and the openness make for a warm welcome.
The resort allows guests to choose from three separate views upon booking: resort, pool and my favorite, oceanside. I was very lucky to get the oceanside view and it definitely did not disappoint. Whenever I travel and head to the beach I make it a point to grab a beach view because it is just one of those sites that you can never get old off; plus the sounds of the ocean is just so calming to me…personally. 🙂
From the blue and white striped theme, to the nautical anchors and pictures everyone and the porthole as the bathroom door, it really made for the room and the feeling like you were on a ship ready to set sail on an ocean voyage. One of my favorite parts of the room was the bed, because it was one of the most comfiest I have ever stayed in. As a mom to a very active toddler, a relaxing night sleep isn’t always in the cards, so being able to relax in a bed while watching some reality tv on their smart televisions at the end of the night was a dream.
Drift Kitchen + Bar is Hutchinson Shore Resort’s premier oceanfront restaurant, offering fresh seafood and Italian specialties in a beautifully designed, contemporary space overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean just beyond. Coming from a Houston gal, which is used to amazing food from all different parts of the world, the moment I tried a meal at Drift Kitchen + Bar I was completely hooked. Every meal was absolutely delicious, full of flavor that every taste bud in my mouth exploded.
The first night we had a fun hello by concocting our our cocktails with their top bartender and my drink was absolutely delicious; I made a strawberry and pineapple mojito….yum. After that they moved us to the other side of the bar where we got to make our own pizzas. I am such a child when it comes to food, so I went simple and added extra cheese, sun dried tomatoes, pepperoni and some ground beef. Not to toot my own horn, but man was it delicious. 🙂
Every meal after that was just as delectable and if Diego was here, he is a big foodie, he would have been in food heaven just like me.
THE POOLS & OCEAN
Hutchinson Shores has two pools. One is the Reflections Pool, which is the largest of the pools and actually gets sunlight 85% of the day; so if your looking to get a great tan this is the place you will spend most of your time. It is family-friendly and also has a hot tub and pool bar next to it that we frequented quick often during our 3 day stay. In addition there are also private cabanas that are available for daily rentals but luckily since we were there during the week, we got to enough it at our leisure and to also get some cute shots by the pool.
The Dune Pool is another one at the resort, which is about half the size, it is heated but only for adults. The thing that I loved the most is that it has an amazing view of the Atlantic ocean, and is located off of their main restaurant, The Drift Kitchen + Bar.
If you aren’t much of a pool person or really just want to enjoy the Prestine Beach, you can head to their private one which is very serene and quite with miles of gorgeous sand and multiple spots to relax and enjoy. You can enjoy private chairs and umbrellas from anywhere from $20 to $100, depending on what you want.
As a mother myself, what I truly enjoyed seeing with the sand dune they created with tons of kids toys to play in and make sand castles. When I saw that I really missed my daughter Sofia, and knew we had to come back so she can enjoy it and see why I love the Hutchinson Shores resort so much.
