After the Thrive Blog Conference I received an extra jolt of inspiration and could not wait to go home and put everything into place. The only issue I had was that I did not have my own little part of the house that I felt I could really feel inspired to do the best work I could do. So, the next day I went out and bought a brand new desk with office supplies and set it up in our bedroom.
I knew I wanted something airy and bright that I could also utilize as a backdrop for pictures. White was the first color that came into my mind, so I headed to Target and once I got home I started setting up my “blogger” area. After it was completed with my adorable office touches from Marshall’s, I was ready to get on my Mac and start putting into practice what I have learned.
Top 5 Things I Learned at the Thrive Blog Conference:
1.Goals- Set goals for weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly for myself. See if I hit then and if not, what I am going to do to get there
2.Know My Voice- Always be authentic to who I am and what I want to share with my followers.
3.Why- Always remember why I decided to do this in the first place. There will come a lot of times where I might be struggling or things are not going just the way as planned, so I have to remember that this is what I love to do and have nothing stand in my way.
4.Connections- Make sure to always network with fellow bloggers and become friends. We are all in this together and should support each other in everything we do. Ones success is all bloggers success; so let’s celebrate it. Make sure to work with brands that you love and are excited to work with. Even if you might get some free products, it is not worth loosing sight of where you want to be and who you want to work with.
5. Working for Free- This one was a huge one for me because I tend to downplay my abilities and what I can do because it is just not in my nature to boost, but I will say I should know that my work shouldn’t be worth nothing. I plan on taking this time to analyze what I believe my time, energy, setup, and work is worth when working with different companies. I have a lot to offer and being financially compensated for good work is not something that should be ignored.
With that all being said look out for the next few months of some changes being done to stylethegirl; I hope you all will love this new journey as much as I do.
