Happy April friends and MLB season!!! Since we live in Houston the Rojas family are big Houston Astros fans and can’t wait to get this season going. I have been a fan since I was a little girl in elementary school when Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell were main players in the mid-90s, and remember Biggio was the Uncle of one of my classmates…so cool right?
I never went to a game until I was in college with Diego and once we had Sofia we would go to games every season and it was so much fun; we can’t wait til we can bring Daniel one day. Here are some pictures of us over the years at our Minute Maid Stadium. 🙂 (Houston friends please don’t get back at me for wearing a NY hat lol)
Even though that is the case, we like to pretend we are a part of the Astros by doing our own baseball games as a family at a field close to our house and the first place we visit beforehand is Academy Sports + Outdoors. From clothing, accessories, hats and shoes and socks, they have literally everything for our hometown MLB team.
In addition to picking up some new tops for all of us we grabbed this super cool SKLZ Hit-A-Way Junior which is a fun, easy way for children to improve their hand-eye coordination and batting skills. It sets up as a batting trainer or a tee and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and the twist-back design simulates real pitches, while the adjustable rubber cord sets the pitch at various heights. Sofia loved this so much and made it easier for her to hit the ball and not get frustrated when we threw it and couldn’t get it.
